More Bumps in the Road to Come

2/13/2012- Big Smiles From the Dr office

Took Khloe into Dr. Lash for a follow up because on January 26th I was in the emergency room with her for about 5 hours. It was determined that she had pneumonia.

I mentioned that she'd been acting like she had an ear infection also and the doctor said they did appear to be red, as if it might be an ear infections. So we got the medications and they did release her because she was hydrated just enough.

Since then we gave her her medicine and she appeared to be doing much better. I did however notice that she'd randomly grab at her right ear. (That is the ear that she had surgery on for Mastoiditis back in April of 2011). So I called to set up a follow up appointment with Lash in hopes of good news.

After a few minutes of checking her over Dr Lash advised that the pneumonia was in fact gone. But said to get an appointment with Dr Grimmer (The doctor that performed her Mastoidectomy) as soon as possible because he was however, concerned about her ear.

Of course I called right away and was able to get a last-minute urgent appointment for 2/14 at 11:45 p.m. We both took the day off because were both obviously concerned about was Dr. Grimmer was going to say. We were able to get in pretty quickly after arriving and Dr Grimmer took only a few moments looking at her ears before he said that she unfortunately is going to need another surgery. They are going to put in newer tubes in her ears because he is concerned of her right ear and the "build up" on the right ear. So as a major precaution he said that the tubes will help us to prevent anything as serious as Mastoiditis from ever happening again.

Her Surgery is schedule for Feb 29th. Then we have a followup appointment again up at Primary's where they will again give her a hearing test to make sure there was not hearing loss again and then the appointment right after.

Hard to imagine that she will be going in for a 2nd surgery (even though not as serious) and she is barely 1 year old. Precious girl has faced more hardships than any child should ever face.

Yet, even when not at 100% she is always smiling. Which gives me the strength I need to help us get through whatever is put in front of us. She is truly the MOST AMAZING/GREATEST thing that has ever happened to me. I thank God Every day!!!

Last night for Valentine's Day Jason had made dinner (it was delicious btw) and we were sitting down and eating. About 1/2 way through our doorbell rang and J went to see who it was. A few moments later he returned with one of those paper folded fortune teller things (you know the things you made in elementary???) It was covered with all these sayings "you are my hero", "u rock", "You are amazing" etc. Jason said there were several more hearts on our door. It had said "You have been Heart-Attacked". We have NO IDEA who it was from, but if they are by some chance reading this "THANK YOU SO MUCH, WHAT A SWEET, AMAZING SURPRISE!"
