Our Little Sweet Potato

Friday at 11:40 a.m. Khloe had her 4 moth appointment. We went in and Khloe was in SUCH A GREAT MOOD (She usually is). We were called back and were seated in our room. Got Khloe's measurements and then DR Lash came into the room. He said "Does Khloe normally look at you when you are talking?" and Khloe whipped her head around to stare at Dr Lash. he laughed and said "haha well I guess so". Then he wheeled over with the gadget to check her ears in his had. He said "Does she reach for things?" He no sooner finished that sentence when "BAM" Khloe had snatched the entire device out of Dr Lash's grasp. He again laughed and this time said "WOW, she has QUITE THE GRIP HUH?". Anyway, khloe got 3 more shots and they pricked her finger as he said she looked a tad pale. But when the test results came back he said her levels are great.. She cried for a quick second but then smiled when I gave her kisses. She is such a strong/brave/HAPPY HAPPY little girl (we are SOOOOOOOOOO blessed)!!! He said we can now begin feeding her some baby foods and to start with veggies before we really hit the sweets... Our sweetie Pie is growing soooo fast- already eating foods now (VERY BITTERSWEET)

Dr Lash did get me a prescription for an OTC Vitamin D/Iron (combo) drop for her. He said she isn't requiring it, but that it will help :D But she takes the orals meds JUST fine, so that won't be a problem.

After the appointment I actually took Khloe to meet the Easter Bunny. She loved him sooo much.. I took some of these pictures with my camera but the BIG smiley one is the one we got developed- be expecting that one very soon (if you don't already have it). All the other kiddos were crying and screaming at the SIGHT of the Easter Bunny but not our sweet girl. Khloe was bright eyed and smiley.. although in this picture her smile had JUST stopped for a brief moment due to the loud squeal from a little boy in a cape right beside me... We had 3 people ask if Khloe had/does baby modeling and asked for my number. They said they would love to set up some things with her as she was so happy and smiley. (SOOO FLATTERED to have others show such an interest in our little girl- but unsure if that is a path I am willing to take her either). But the Easter Bunny was a HUGE success. Let's just hope she loves "Santa" just as much- hahahaha

Later that night we had stocked up on a bunch of baby foods for Khloe as Dr. Lash said its a good idea. He said to try and get her to eat 1-2 times a day and then just breastfeed the rest. So night we decided to let her try some Sweet Potatoes, that is right, Our Sweet little Khloe tried some Sweet Potatoes and just LOVED THEM!!! We got her in our Bumbo and began to feed her! She was such a great sport!!

She was very hands on and was trying to show "daddy" how to feed her. She would take a bite, smile big and wiggle the "tAtos" around in her mouth. Then swallow and reach her hand out towards the spoon!

At first she was unsure of the texture on her tongue, but after a few spills and spits she began to really "chomp" away at the delicious food! :D About 10 minutes after some steady eating, Jason had just given her a bite, she wiggled it around, swallowed it & made this face. The "ok ok I am STUFFED" face.. It was priceless. Once she saw that were were putting the food away and she didn't have to have another bite she again smile big! :D Our little Sweet Potato did soooo good.. She has also tried some Banana Cream Pie (thanks Diane) and Khloe of course LOVED that... I swear she has her Daddy's taste buds. Everything that Jason used to eat when he was her age- she LOVES.. hahahahaha Funny how that works... (looking forward to many MANY more feeding adventures)
